TMI Part 2
So in answer to "Nene's" question about why I'm doing things a bit differently from now on, it's because there are so many creeps out there!
Nothing really has happened (except that I have got a few weird comments last week and a friend of mine has had a rude one as well)
But, there was a story on the news a few days ago about blogging (I tried to find it for this post, but can't see it anywhere). I didn't get to see it, but the story was about some person in our state that posted a picture of their kid on their blog, then some person grabbed the photo and put it on some Nazi blog. Not that big of a deal. But I guess that it also just reminded everyone, that if you have a public blog, EVERYONE can see it. Good people (like family and friends and friends of friends) and also bad people (like racists, pedophiles, and other types of "bad guys")
So my homeland security package is really just about making myself more private so I don't have to go private. I was private once, and with the exception of my friend Chrissie, no one else was, that's why I decided to take my stock public so-to-speak.
Whew! that was long (sorry)
My friend Cindy asked me if it was a pain to change names and stuff... it wasn't too bad, it did take an hour or so, but I can usually remember what I was writing about on each post, so I went in, and pressed "edit" and took the names out.
Hope that helps some of you. Until next time,
Brandi

Thanks for this post! I know this is a terrible attitude to have, but I figure my blog just isn't that cool to be found. I know, bad thinking because anything could happen! Anyway, thanks for answering my questions and making me stop and think about some small simple precautions I should take.
I might have to change some things too. I asked a cop that came to talk to the Y.W. about safety, what she thought about blogs since she ripped my space apart. She basically told me that if you have something on the internet then it can be accessed, even private. She said that just about anything can be hacked into.
Oh, I picked a birthday theme for my blog because of Kassidy's birthday today and Jasmine's tomorrow, but i was thinking that after that i was going to pick this really cute Thanksgiving one. All I can say is it is a good thing I looked at your blog! I would have been a copy cat!
That news story also talked about people posting inappropriate comments. They suggested to keep names private, and be careful of the pictures that you post. Even pictures of your home. Also, not to mention where you might be going on a vacation and the dates.
Hey Brandi, I just sent you an email about the girls plays. Be sure to check it.
I'm so glad you found my blog. I will add you to the blogs I follow.
Mason is truly amazing in school. He always amazes me when I'm helping him do his homework.
We will be looking at putting Leslye in preschool next fall hopefully. I don't know if I want her to start a year early or not. I will definitely let you know though.
I've had quite a few friends go private for the reasons you mentioned. maybe it is bad that i'm not more cautious, but I guess I figure like Janene that my blog isn't that interesting. :) Also, I guess I figure that if some crazy person wants to find us, there are lots of ways, not just my blog. Phone numbers and addresses are on the web. A friend of Alfredo's was able to look up my salary and tell him about it a year ago! Crazy. But I can see the value in keeping your blog private or at least using pseudonyms. You are probably pretty wise.
