Super turned 7

Super turned 7 on January 17! Grandma and Grandpa Barnett gave her a singing High School Musical Barbie and some cash!Hannah and Heather gave her a Barbie and dog combo. So cute, it even has a bobble head.
Abby and Katie gave her a groom! He's so dreamy!Super was being so crazy for us the night of her birthday. She is usually so quiet when all eyes are on her, but tonight, she turned a new leaf! She was tearing through her presents and she kept singing "Oh ya! It's my birthday, it's my birthday!" What a goof!
A couple of weeks ago, Super mentioned that she thought that people should get the number of presents equal to their age. (What a good idea! I can't wait till my birthday!) Anyway, her favorites from us include her watch and a cash register. (I didn't get a picture of the cash register and the watch we got was too big, so we bought her a new one)
As part of our birthday traditions, we let the kids choose where they want to eat for their birthday, and Mash chose Subway. (Of all the places...we told her we could do Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Aka Saka Sushi, etc. and she chose Subway!) She didn't want a cake for dessert either, she wanted a shake from Arctic Circle. Oh well, she's a cheap date I guess!!

OOPS!

A funny little story:
The other day I washed some clothes for Super to wear the next day to school. I got up in the morning and threw them in the dryer, but I didn't notice when I got them out of the dryer, that her pants were still a little damp. She CAN'T STAND anything wet on her clothes. Well, no big deal, I thought to myself, I'll just have her put them back into the dryer. I asked her "you know how to do it, right?" She said "yes, I know". I had her go do it, and then, about 20 minutes later, I asked her to go back down and get her pants. She came back upstairs and said "Mom, I had a blond moment, I 'axently' (that's how she pronounces that word) put them in the washer! I had a brain cramp!"
Too funny! She cracks me up!

January 2008

Saturday, we went shopping for a mirror and shelves to finish up our living room project. I think it turned out nice... Better than I had expected!

**Here is a paining hint if you ever get a wild hair: Find something you LOVE first, then match you paint with that. It is far easier to match some paint to a cool rug, bedding, shower curtain, etc, than it is to try to find something to match after you have already done your painting. **

Oh, and here is a crazy tidbit... Jason feels like we really need to paint the basement next. Oh boy! Here we go again!

So, sometimes, I will find myself telling people about my trials with my youngest child... And everyone says "Super?" People cannot possibly imagine shy, quiet, little Super Smash ever being anything but angelic! Well, the other day (I think it was New Year's Eve), she was NOT GOING to get into the shower! I threatened to put her in in her pj's, but she thought I was kidding. So, I had Loo and Sue help my put her in the shower fully dressed! What a turd!

This other pic is of Sue being very cooperative! I just wanted a picture of her in her uniform on her first day of work. By the way she is acting, you would think we made her get that job. NOT HARDLY!!! I was trying to talk her out of it!

One last thing, before I end this post... We were able to get together with our friends Kathy and Dave (they are the people who used to babysit Sue for me). It was so fun to catch up! I think it had been at least 5 years since we saw them last. Thanks for coming over guys!
