"Son of a Nut-Cracker!"

My computer got a nasty virus.
So, we had to "dump it"
meaning,
take absolutely everything off of it,
and start like it's day one.
Yuck!
The really crappy thing,
is that it's taken the last 3 days to do it.
And the super-duper-crappy thing
is that all my pictures, music, everything,
are unreachable.
(insert swearing here)
YES, we backed it up.
BUT, the stupid stuff is on our external hard drive (e.x.d.)
that won't let us access any of the goods.
So, we get to buy a new e.h.d
and hope that Jason can take the old one to his work,
pull everything off of it
and put it on the new e.h.d.
Then,
hopefully,
we will be able to have our goodies back.
We have so much music we have on our computer.
I think we have about 100 gigs of it.
And, the pictures.
Don't make me go there.

Wish us luck!
And, without further ado, here's the songs for today:
Nutcracker Suite
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies
both Tchaikovsky, but I'm not exactly sure who performed them. At any rate, they should help you feel like a little girl again!

I am so sorry to hear that! Good luck. I wouldn't know what to do except call Jessy the neighbor and hope that he could fix it!

Oh, that is one of my biggest fears. I'm pretty sure we don't have a good backup anywhere. Good luck. I really hope you can get everything back!

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! I feel for you. That really sucks canal water. I wish you luck. I lost my whole journal once and it was a hard lesson learned about backing up stuff. At least you backed yours up and I hope you can access it.

Wow I would have cried! That is a bugger. Well I'm glad you are at least back to blogging it makes me sad when you don't have new fun stuff to read.

For a little clarification on the subject of my HP sucks. Yes we did get a small little bug that gave me an excuse to change my operating system around. My attempt was to downgrade my operating system to a stand-alone XP media center. Then I would upgrade to a service pack 3. Well I reformatted the hard drive. Put the new OS on and attempted to grab all of the drivers for my chipset. Well only problem with the OS version I had is it wouldn’t let you run installer, something I needed in order to install the drivers I had. So being the nice/fearful husband I am I gave up my chase and went back to my old OS. The problem is that my old system had ownership over all of the files on my back up hard drive. So here I am at work using my XP pro software (don't have to do it is safe mode) to switch the ownership. Fun times!

Yikes. Chris assures me we're like double if not triple backed up. Hope we never have to find out! Oh, and that last post by Jason...that is why my husband gets along with him!
