School and Lace

We are learning the letter Ll this week. Every time we learn a new letter, we glue something to that letter. We were getting ready for that today when I picked up a piece of lace and asked:

"Does anyone know what this is called?"
N.. said "Boob stuff?"
That's close, it's called l-l-lace.
Can you say that with me?
l-l-lace.

That is hilarious! Kids are the greatest. I have to tell you a quick story. I had broken my class into groups to write their own class rules. They were to compile a list, nominate a speaker, and present what they thought was the best rule. After three groups of classic third grade rules, this fabulously sassy girl gets up front and says, "We absolutely CAN NOT smoke pot in this class. That just is not acceptable." While trying to keep a straight face I just said, "K., you are right! That is something that should never happen in this class." Yes, that was day two of class. That was pretty much how that year went!

Hailey, I don't have an email address for you, so hopefully you'll come back and read this comment, but that is one of the funniest things I have heard. That's true too you know. It isn't a good idea for any third grader to smoke pot!!
One time, "Loo" told her 1st grade teacher that I was in jail. That was pretty shocking to get a phone call from her teacher making sure I'm NOT in the slammer!
