And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know.

So I've mentioned before that Jason and I like to do projects together. The kitchen is on the top of our to-do-list for the year.

Here's what we know we're going to do:

Tear out the cabinets and refinish them and
Add crown molding to the top and possibly some molding at the bottom as well.
Get new counter tops, sink and faucet.
Paint.
Add molding around the windows.
Put in more hardwood flooring (exactly the same as the stuff in the living room)

Now, this is where YOU come in. I need some suggestions...
We originally thought we'd distress the cabinets, prime them red, then paint them black and sand off the edges.
Now we are entertaining the idea of distressing, priming dark brown, painting them cream, and sanding the edges.
My first instinct is to go with black, but have you seen my kitchen? Barbie's kitchen is bigger than mine. Is black going to close it in? If I had to decide right this second about the cabinets, I think I'd choose cream.

Then there's the faucet issue. I want antique bronze. Jason doesn't think we can have a bronze faucet with stainless appliances. What do you think?

Then paint. Oh that's almost like a four letter word (only it's five). With the copper, rusty red and yellowish in my living room, what color do I do my kitchen? We kind of like the idea of doing the rusty red color as an accent and putting it on the wall you see when you first walk in to my house. But then, what other color with it? Painting the whole thing red will make it feel extra extra small.

So, help please. What do we do?

The playlist is back today having NOTHING to do with kitchen remodeling. But, it does have a few of our favorites from...you guested it Rock Band! (2)

Okay so I like the top pic for your cabinets I think you're right black will close it in and make it feel dark and smaller, I think if you had black appliances the you could do the bronze, not sure it would look right with stainless. The Wall Color not really sure I HATE Painting for that reason. Hope I helped a little. You are such a busy body! p.s. love carry on and float on!

My opinion:

Lighter cabinets, no bronze faucet. I want bronze in my kitchen but won't since my appliances are stainless. Can't wait to see the finished product!

If you do not have a lot of natural light I would suggest not going dark other wise it will seem like a cave! You have to come see what we ended up doing with ours when we moved back in. I liked the lighter destressed. I painted the cabinets yellow and then I stained them with a darker stain. I was only going to do the corners and edges but stain is SOOOOOO messy and sticky! I ended up blending it all over with the darkest part around the corners. I must say I am very pleased with the ending result!

I know several people who have done the light cabinets as you have pictured. It looks beautiful. One of my friends antiqued, the other did not, and both look fabulous. Having said that, I have another friend who recently took the same type of cabinets that you have and painted them a dark almost black color with a gel paint/stain. It looks so stinkin' awesome!

I think that a red, tan, light blue or brown wall color would look nice depending on which color of cabinet you chose.

As far as the faucet, I think that you would be fine to go with the oil rubbed bronze faucets.

We are in the process as well, but it's a slow one. Paint is a big thing, but remember if you don't like it you can fix it easily. Reds are good, but in small doses. I think a light brown would go nice with it, especially if you like the bronze faucet. Good luck! Put up some pictures when it's done!
