If people were meant to pop out of bed, we'd all sleep in toasters. ~author unknown
Morning and I are not friends. I keep trying to be friends with her, but Bed keeps making me stay with her and Pillow. It's so irritating! And why are Covers and I best friends? When Alarm Clock calls, I seldom have time for her right then. I usually tell her "10 more minutes.... please" .
I found this quote a while back, that I think sums up the whole sleeping experience: The bed is a bundle of paradoxes: we go to it with reluctance, yet we quit it with regret; we make up our minds every night to leave it early, but we make up our bodies every morning to keep it late. ~Charles Caleb Colton
Anyway, I find it extremely hard to drag my butt out of bed in the mornings! Especially since the arrival of fall. The longer hours of nightfall are killing me! I don't know about you, but I find it much easier to get out of bed when the sun is at least starting to rise. And, lately, I've been getting up and into the shower with the lights off. Then at least it feels like I'm prolonging the arrival of a new day. After my shower, my feet find the way to the garage, where I can grab my version of a cup o' Joe (a coke), and then, the rest of the day begins...
Hopefully you enjoyed my ramblings about sleep today! I wanna know...are you a morning person? What gets you up and going in the we small hours of the morning?
Without further ado, here's today's play list: Sleeping Lessons by the Shins and Dream a Little Dream of Me by Ella Fitzgerald and Lois Armstrong.

Sorry you're having such a hard time! I wish I could share some of my enthusiasm for the morning with you. I absolutely LOVE the morning, I love that everything is new and a fresh start and that I can do better this day than I did yesterday. It doesn't matter what time of year it is, I LOVE the morning. Jared will sometimes tell me to go back to bed on a Saturday and I can't do it. If my kids haven't already woken m, I am up at 6:30 EVERY day. It is rare that I sleep later than that! What can I say? I'm a morning person!
Evette- I adore the mornings when I don't HAVE to get up! Saturday mornings are the best because it's usually my blog time, reading time, or just plain alone time.
But you are definately right about a new chance to do things differently. Maybe that's the inspiration I needed! :)
So glad you are back! I'm somewhere between you and Evette. I like mornings, but not enthusiastically. I like to sleep in on weekends (till about 7:30 or 8...ocassionally later, but not often) but I don't mind getting up on work days. In fact, really I think I feel better on work days because I don't stay up too late the night before and I do get up early. Plus, I"m the only one up for the first half hour, which is my time to think/process/read/shower/be alone. :)
I hate mornings! I've tried desperatly to change that by forcing myself up and to the gym (at 5:00am) but, when I'm crashing at 7:30 it just didn't work. I hear you get a lot more done in the a.m. I've come to the conclusion it's part of my make-up to be a night walker! Mornings Suck!
I also do NOT like getting up in the morning! Hey, thanks for the comments you put on my blog!
=D
