I'm back!

Did you miss me? Or even know I was gone? Well, we are back from our little vaca. It was great. Tomorrow or Monday, I will post more. I have some great pics!

Dem Bones

(this is Lexie's version of a dressed for success skeleton)

What I'm about to say will solidify your feelings about me being a dork...
I crack myself up! I really do.

I was sitting in my house yesterday afternoon looking at the skeleton my girls had dressed two times previously, when I had this brilliant idea! After rummaging through the Halloween crap like a kid wound up on too much candy, I found what I was looking for. Then, after careful consideration, (not really) I dressed my skeleton up in it. I stood back to admire my work. Not quite as funny as I had hoped, but still pretty good. After a trip to Walleyworld, I got the finishing touch. What do you think?

Looks a wee li-le bit like one of Captain Barbosa's crew. Don't you think? I wish you could see the way the light shines through the costume. It's pretty eerie!

Breakfast Casserole

A few weeks ago a couple of different people asked me for this recipe. I thought I would just put it on my blog.

(The recipe comes from my Aunt Cherie. She used to make it every year for Christmas Breakfasts, but it is also great as a dinner)

2 lbs Jimmy Dean Sausage
1 C. chopped onion
1 1/2 c cooked rice
4 C. Rice Krispies
2 cans Cream of Celery Soup
2 C. Sharp Cheddar cheese shredded and divided

Brown Sausage with onion, drain. In a separate bowl, combine, rice, rice krispies, soup and 1 1/2 cups cheese. Add sausage and onions. Put in a glass baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 or until middle is hot and mixture is starting to bubble slightly.
***NOTE: the Jimmy Dean Sausage and sharp cheddar cheese are a must. I have tried it with other sausages and med or mild cheddar, and it doesn't taste very good.
***This has become my Christmas breakfast tradition as well. I put it all together the night before, then put it in the oven in the morning. BUT if the casserole is cold (which it will be after it sits in the fridge all night) you need to increase the baking time by about 10 minutes.

Sacajawea aka Alice

I've been meaning to do this post for quite a while now, so today is FINALLY the day:

I have mentioned before that we have recently acquired a rabbit named Alice. Well, she is the sweetest bunny!

She loves to be held...like a baby. We take her with us when we go to school to pick up Ashley. We have also taken her to Lowes twice! She is a trooper! The girls have dressed her up in a "jacket" that Loo made out of an old pair of pjs, they have put a hat on her, they have even put a harness on her to take her for a walk. It is so cute!

This weekend, Loo and Super made her Sacajawea. They are funny! I don't know how they decided that's what they were, but anyway, here are some pictures of little AliceAlice, looking like a stuffed animal

Freeze Frame!

I had the opportunity to get away this past weekend with some friends in our old and new wards. It was lots of fun! We ate lots of treats, drank lots of coke, and got lots of pages done. The only thing I didn't do lots of was sleeping...I had a grand total of 8 hours for Friday and Saturday. Needless to say, I was bushed! I had the hardest time getting up for church on Sunday. But it was worth every hour of lost sleep! I got 13 pages done at our little scrap-away this weekend! I was super excited to get so much done. Now, I'm totally jonesing to sit at home and scrap some more. I just love doing it. Here are some of my favorite pages from the weekend:

They have the machine that lets you select your flavor add-in to your coke. So spiffy! And, none of the other MegaPlex theaters have it. Thank you Larry Miller!! I love your Coke machines!!!

Friday, I got a very exciting call...

It was my friend Dani (one of my "moms" from last year and the year before). She invited me to go to her house to play rock band with her and her friends. I was so excited. You all know how I. LOVE. ROCKBAND!

Anyway, it was so much fun! I was able to meet 2 other ladies. I didn't realize that the third friend was going to be someone I already knew. (she's one of this years "moms"). We laughed, and joked, and sang and danced, and drummed, and played the geeetar (you have to say it like that). We also had delicious caramel apples! MMM!

An Evening In Roma

My 4th and 4th:

A couple of my peeps did 4th and 4th posts, I really liked the idea, so I thought when in Rome?

So, if you want to do it, all you do is go to your photo file on your computer, select the 4th folder and use your 4th picture. Then write about the picture.

This picture is from when we were finishing our basement. We had to bring this desk up from downstairs and put it at the end of the hall so that we could have more room. Super just loved playing under it. But, not alone! She would say all in one word "come-ere-and-sit-by-me Loo" and pat the floor to show her where she wanted her.

Aah! Those were the days. The kids didn't fight. Everything was calm. Super was nice. Loo wasn't a teen.

As I mentioned in the Tortoice and the Hare post, we have a bunny now!
The kids love her! They can't put her down! We have been busy busy busy making her some new accommodations!

So now, Super has decided she doesn't want to be Claire Bennet for Halloween any more. You know who she wants to be? Alice in Wonderland! I told her she probably won't get to cart Alice (that's our bunny's name) around all day on Halloween. She claims she doesn't care. . . We'll see about that.

Well, I guess the good news is that now I can just buy the costume from Disney rather than making it!


And...it's been awhile since I put my five faves on, so here goes:
1. Playing Rock Band with my BFF Alissa
2. Not having to make dinner
3. Messing around on the computer all night (I'm a GREAT wife)
