Little Dangly Thingy

I just love it when my older kids say silly stuff. The times get farther between all the time, but every once in a while, one of them will say something that makes me feel like they're little again.

Today, I was complaining about the fact that I've already spent what I thought was the full amount for Sue's graduation stuff- it was $117 or something close to that; for the cap and gown, invitations, announcements, etc. BUT come to find out that I had to pay $84 more for everything. I called to confirm that that was the right amount and the lady ran through everything for me. Sure enough, I do have to pay that extra money. So stupid! Anyway, Loo was trying to make me feel better and said that when she graduates, she only wants a cap and gown and a "little dangly thingy" that says
(and I quote) "Oh-Fourteen".

Look out people, these are the kids of our future!

Did you win?

Yay! for those of you who played!! These are the winners:

In first place, Dani McCulley- I will try to come up with something sexy for you. Maybe a cookie thong, but that might hurt. Maybe some pasties made from Fruit by the Foot. I'll have to think about it.

In second place, Stacy Quader- Stacy, I will try to come up with something Arizona-ish for you. Do you use pasties? hahahahaha

In third place, Sarah. Sarah, I don't know your last name. Sad. Oh well, I know you like pirates. Maybe I will draw a picture of my favorite pirate for you Will Turner! Hmm. Have to think about it. Maybe I'll sing you a pirate's life for me and record it. Ooo that would be cool! I have an amazing voice! Just ask Dani!

In fourth place, Jenny Panameno- Jenny, I'm not sure what to make you. Maybe a freezer meal, I know you like to read, maybe I can write you a poem. I'll probably have to sleep on it!

In fifth place, my old neighbor, Melanie Cane- Melanie, maybe I should make you some sunscreen. That way your poor baby won't get any more sunburns (if you remember to put it on him for goodness sakes) JK!

I'm excited to start working on your projects! You might get pasties, an edible thong, some homemade sunscreen, a poem, I'm not sure. But thanks so much for playing ladies!
Don't worry if you didn't get to play. You can still comment on Sarah's (last time I checked) click her name and you can comment on hers...OR just start one yourself. It's fun to pay it forward! I've already won twice! I hope to win some more!!

Pay It Forward:

Here are the rules:

The first five people to comment on this post will get something homemade by me!

The homemade gift could be anything (the air of mystery is what makes this thing exciting!) It may be a baked goodie, something I have sewn, a painting or drawing, OR even a singing and dancing video staring yours truly. Who knows?! But whatever it is, you will love it...or pretend that you do!

Last but not least, you must continue this little game by re -posting the offer of a secret homemade gift to the first 5 people who comment on your blog.

The first 5 people to do so win a homemade gift by me that money can’t buy! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it (so those who weren’t fast enough to win can be horribly jealous).
My friend Ginger did this and made me a cute Easter decoration, which I will charish always and a store-bought Twilight keychain, which I have attatched to my keys right now!

Good luck everyone!
Oh, I almost forgot your songs for today:

My ship just came in!

Well, actually, it was a truck, but who cares about the details. The point is, I have a new stove...and the flooring is in! The kitchen isn't completely done, but it is so close, I can almost taste it! The only things left are painting the baseboards, adding some molding next to the cabinets on the bottom, hanging some curtains, and then...BLISS! It will be completely done! I will be giving tours to those who make an appointment and promise to bring me something nice to help me decorate. hahaha!
But, here they are...some pictures!

I'm so excited to fix our first meal tonight...in our new kitchen. We're going to have a favorite from the Blue Bayou at Disneyland. Pork with Root beer apples, scalloped potatoes, and some rolls if I get ambitious (most likely I will just buy those)

Gotta run! Must find curtains!!!

Song: Pirate's life for me (because my ship has come in, because I'm making food from the restaurant IN the ride, and, because I'm DYING for a vacation)

The SEVEN letter word....

Yes, it is WORSE than the 4 letter words we know and love!
It's so bad, that I can't even say it out loud!

On my list today... (whisper) the "L" word.

You know you need to do it, when you can barely tell where the clothes end and the floor begins... or the other way around!

It's a vicious cycle!

So, the song today: You Spin Me Round by Dead or Alive! And so that you really get the feel of the song, I have embedded the video for your enjoyment!

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy!

Today, at band camp... (just kidding)
But really, today, I turned on the kitchen faucet...and water came out!

Also, the girls were FINALLY accepted into Entheos! We've been waiting over 2 years!

Holy Crap! It has been a great day!!!!

Momentous Occasion

Today, something incredible happened!

I was able to make a sandwich on my COUNTER! Yes, that's right people, I have counter tops now! The sink is in too! (although, not hooked up yet, but it will be tomorrow)

I'm crossing my fingers that tomorrow we will be able to start the flooring, but I think that's a pipe dream! We will most likely only get to put in the drawers, add the pulls to them, and hook up the sink. Why so little? Jason is back to work tomorrow. His vacation (if you can call it that) is over. :(

10 Songs I could live WITHOUT!

You know the songs that come on the radio, and you immediately change the station? The songs you would never have on your play list? Well, those are the songs I'm talking about today! Feel free to participate on your blog (or my comments) if you would like! :)

1. Karma Chameleon by Culture Club
All I can say is "gag me with a spoon!"

2. Get Over It by the Eagles
They should have stuck to the classics for their reunion album Hell Freezes Over.

3. The Way It Is by Bruce Hornsby and the Range
I'm not sure what it is about the song that I don't like. Everything?

4. Roxanne by The Police
He sounds like he's going to hurl when he says "Rrrrrooooxannne". And how many times does he need to tell us that she doesn't have to put on the red light?

5. I Hope You Dance by Leanne Womak
Every time this comes on the radio, I think "Oh, Dolly Parton must have a new song". Then I wonder "what is a Dolly song doing on this radio station?" Then I realize, "Oh! It's THAT song". Ooo. I shudder to think about it!

6. Doctor Doctor by the Thompson Twins
In my opinion, the song has NOT aged well. Not good. Very Very not good!

7. 12 Days of Christmas
I don't even think I liked this in elementary school. I remember hating to remember all the dumb things I've already sung. Plus the song keeps going and going and going and....

8. Bubbly by Colbie Callet
I bought the CD just for that song. I really liked the tone of her voice and the laid back feeling it had. It was great! THEN the radio got a hold of it. And played the heck out of it. Now, I can't bare to listen to it! Yuck!

9. The Remedy by Jason Mraz
For one thing, I can't understand it. The other thing...he breathes WAY too much! It sounds like he's saying ah in between each word! I ah can't ah stand ah that ah song ah! Drives me crazy!

10. Piano Man by Billy Joel
not necessarily an awful song, but it reminds me of growing up. I remember my mom loved that song! Probably why I don't like it!

That woman is nuts!

I'm talking about OUR mother. Mother Nature. Does anyone have her number? I want to send a message to her.

I want to tell her:

You change your mind, like a girl changes clothes...
Your warm, then your cold
There's rain, then there's snow
There's sleet, then there's sun
There's wind, then there's none.

I want spring to stay, hey
Winter really can go, oh!

I was going to put a picture on here, but I changed my mind. Oh no! Maybe she's rubbing off on me!
